How to homeschool in Utah

File a one-time notice of intent with your local school board for each child when you start. The district sends an excuse certificate within 30 days. Affidavits filed before May 7, 2025 remain valid. File again only if you move districts.

No testing. The school board may not require it.

No records. The board may not require attendance records.
