How to homeschool in South Dakota

Within 30 days of starting, file the alternative instruction notification with the Department of Education (online, with a mySD account) or your district. It gives the child's name, birth date and resident district, and your signature. No birth certificate is needed. File again only if you move districts or enroll the child in a school.
