OneHomeschool Inc., a Delaware corporation (“OneHomeschool”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), provides a homeschool management platform for parents and guardians: chore tracking, curriculum management, daily school assignments, assessments and study guides, attendance records, transcripts, and a gradebook, available on the web at onehomeschool.com and through our iOS and Android apps (together, the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account and your family’s data. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
A note for parents, first
OneHomeschool is built for parents and guardians. Accounts are created and controlled by adults. Parents create profiles for their children, decide what information those profiles contain, and can review, edit, or delete that information at any time. Children never create their own accounts, and we never market to, advertise to, or sell the data of anyone — child or adult. The Children’s Privacy section below describes this in detail.
Information we collect
Account information (provided by you)
- Name, email address, and a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash).
- An optional profile photo or avatar.
- If you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us (name, email, profile picture). We never receive your Google password.
- Household information, such as your household name and its members.
Child profile information (provided by the parent)
Parents may create profiles for the children in their household. Depending on what you choose to enter and which features you use, a child profile can include:
- The child’s first name, age and/or grade level, and an optional photo or avatar.
- Schoolwork records: curricula, lesson assignments and completion, grades, test and assessment results, study guides, attendance, and transcripts.
- Chore assignments and completion activity.
- Messages exchanged between the parent and the child within the app.
All of this information is entered by, or generated under the direction of, the parent. We collect it solely to provide the Service to your family.
Payment information
Subscriptions are purchased on our website and processed by Square, our payment processor. Your card number never touches our servers — it is entered into and handled directly by Square. We receive and keep only what we need to manage your subscription: a payment token, the plan you purchased, transaction amounts and dates, and the last few digits and brand of the card for your receipts.
Usage and analytics information
- Product analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the product is used (e.g., which screens are visited, which features are used) so we can improve it. In our mobile apps, analytics events are associated with your user ID only. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do notuse analytics for ad targeting of any kind. Analytics describe the account holder’s (parent’s) use of the app; we do not build analytics profiles of children.
- Log data. Like most services, our servers record technical logs (IP address, browser/device type, timestamps, pages or endpoints requested, errors) for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
- Push notification tokens.If you enable notifications in our mobile apps, we store a device push token (via Expo’s push service) so we can deliver them.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries that are necessary to run the Service — for example, keeping you signed in, and remembering a referral code if you arrived through an affiliate link. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Service for your household.
- To operate the features you use — generating daily assignments, recording grades and attendance, producing transcripts and reports, tracking chores, and syncing your data across your devices.
- To generate AI-assisted content you request (see “AI features” below).
- To process subscriptions, payments, and refunds.
- To send transactional email (verification codes, password resets, invitations, security notices) and, where you have enabled them, product notifications.
- To provide customer support.
- To understand aggregate product usage and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not show advertising. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
AI features
Some features — such as AI-generated assessments and study guides — are powered by Anthropic’s Claude models. When you use these features, we send the relevant lesson and curriculum content (and the parameters you choose) to Anthropic’s API to generate the result. We design these requests around your curriculum material; they are not used by Anthropic to train its models under the API terms we operate under. AI-generated content can contain mistakes — parents should review it before use.
Children’s privacy
We take children’s privacy seriously, and the Service is deliberately structured so that parents stay in control:
- The Service is for parents and guardians. We do not offer accounts to children, and children cannot sign up for the Service directly.
- Parents create and control child profiles.Any information about a child in OneHomeschool (name, age or grade, optional photo, schoolwork and chore activity, parent-child messages) exists because the child’s parent or guardian created it and chose to record it. Creating a child profile is itself the parent’s consent to our handling of that information as described in this policy.
- “Kid mode” is parent-supervised.A parent may let a child view their own assignments and chores through a restricted, parent-managed kid mode on the parent’s account — optionally protected by a PIN. Kid mode does not create an account for the child and does not collect information from the child beyond the activity the feature exists to record (e.g., marking a chore done).
- No advertising, no sale of data, no third-party ad tracking. There is no advertising anywhere in the Service, we never sell anyone’s data, and we do not permit third-party advertising or cross-site tracking technologies in the Service. We do not build analytics profiles of children.
- Parents can review and delete child data at any time.You can view, edit, or delete a child’s profile and records in the app, and deleting your household deletes all of its child profiles. See Deleting your account.
We intend our practices to be consistent with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): child data enters the Service only through a parent, with the parent’s consent, is used only to provide the Service to that parent, and is deletable by the parent. If you believe a child has provided us information directly without parental involvement, contact us at support@onehomeschool.com and we will delete it.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers (“subprocessors”) we use to run OneHomeschool, each bound to use it only to provide their service to us:

We may also disclose information:
- To comply with law, legal process, or an enforceable government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information and we will notify you of any change in ownership.
- With your direction or consent.
Data retention
- Active accounts.We keep your household’s data for as long as your account exists so the Service works — school records in particular (grades, attendance, transcripts) are intended to be a multi-year archive that you control.
- Deleted accounts. When you delete your account (see below), your data is deleted immediately from our production systems. Residual copies in encrypted backups age out of our backup rotation within a limited period (currently up to 35 days), after which they are gone permanently.
- Lapsed subscriptions.If your trial or subscription ends, access is suspended but your household’s data is retained so you can resubscribe and pick up where you left off. Nothing is deleted until you delete it — or delete your account.
- Records we must keep. We retain payment and tax records as required by law, and minimal logs needed for security and fraud prevention, for their legally required or operationally necessary period.
Your rights and choices — including deletion
You can, at any time:
- Review and update your account and household information in the app.
- Review, edit, or delete any child profile and its records in the app.
- Export transcripts and attendance reports as PDFs.
- Cancel your subscription in Settings.
- Delete your account and data entirely.
To delete your account in the app:
- Web:Settings → Security → Delete account.
- Mobile (iOS/Android):Settings → Security → Delete account.
- Or by email: write to support@onehomeschool.com from your account email and we will delete the account for you.
If you are the only parent/administrator of your household, deleting your account permanently deletes the entire household — including all child profiles and their records — and cancels any active subscription. If your household has other administrators, deleting your account removes your own login and personal data while the household remains with the other administrators. US state privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, receive a portable copy of it, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and do not use it for profiling with significant effects, there is no sale or targeted-advertising activity to opt out of. We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals; since we use no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking, a GPC signal changes nothing about how the Service treats you.
To exercise any right, contact us at support@onehomeschool.com; we will verify your identity and respond within the time required by applicable law. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and — where your state provides it — contact your state attorney general.
Security
We protect your data with industry-standard measures: encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, hashed passwords, short-lived access tokens, optional two-factor authentication, tenant isolation between households at the database layer, and access controls limiting who inside OneHomeschool can reach production systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your family’s information and will notify you as required by law in the event of a breach affecting your data.
Where your data lives
The Service is hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States (US East / Northern Virginia region). If you use the Service from outside the United States, you are transferring your information to the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those of your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. If we make material changes — especially any change affecting children’s data — we will notify you by email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect, and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
Governing law
This policy and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
