Where it works

Three ways your state can help pay.

Supported in 11 states. Choose yours for the steps, in your program's own words.

Paid from your ESA account

Create an invoice in OneHomeschool and submit it to your program. It pays us straight from your account.

Reimbursed by your state

Pay by card, then send your program the receipt from Settings. Your state pays you back.

Claimed on your state taxes

Pay by card and keep your receipt for your state tax credit or deduction when you file.

How it works

From sign-up to paid in three steps.

1

Start free and add your students

Every invoice and receipt names each student with their grade, so add everyone the plan will cover.

2

Get the paperwork your program asks for

An invoice to submit for payment, or a receipt for reimbursement or your taxes. Both from Settings, any time.

3

Submit it the way your state does

Each state page has the steps in your program's own words, and buttons to the exact place you file.

Sample receipt. Yours names your own family and students.

The paperwork

Written for the person who reviews it.

Missing details are the most common reason a payment or reimbursement is sent back. Every invoice and receipt carries what program reviewers look for.

  • Our legal name and full business address
  • Your name, address and email
  • Each student, with their grade and share of the price
  • The exact dates your plan covers
  • An itemized description in the programs' own terms
  • The total, how it was paid, and a number to quote

FAQ

Paying with ESA funds

Your program decides what it pays for, and the rules differ from state to state. OneHomeschool is an online homeschool curriculum with recordkeeping included, and we work with the programs marked as supported on this page. Check your program's handbook or ask your program before you submit an invoice or a receipt.

ESA programs run on a school year from July 1 to June 30, and they will not pay for service past the end of it. Your invoice covers the rest of the current school year and is priced for the months left: the yearly price divided by twelve, times the months your plan covers.

It ends on its own and nothing renews or charges you. When the new school year starts, create a new invoice from Settings and submit it to your program the same way.

No. Your invoice shows the plan's price and nothing else. We do not pass the payment platform's processing fee on to you.

As soon as your program's payment reaches us. Your program reviews it first, which can take a few days, so starting during your free trial gives it time to arrive.

Not for the same plan. If your plan renews on a card, cancel it in Settings first, then pay for the next term with your ESA funds.

Many programs reimburse families for curriculum they buy themselves. Your receipt in Settings names each student, the dates your plan covers and each student's share, which is what those programs ask for. Write to support@onehomeschool.com and tell us which program you use.

This page explains how payment works with each program. It is not advice about your eligibility, which only your program can decide.

Your homeschool, planned. Paid the way your state allows.
