How it works in Indiana

    Pay by card and download your receipt from Settings.

    Indiana counts computer software and curricula, though not computers.

  2. 2

    Check that your child qualifies.

    Your dependent, homeschooled in Indiana for at least 180 days and eligible for a free public education.

  3. 3

    Claim the Private School/Homeschool Deduction on IT-40 Schedule 2.

    One deduction for each child you paid education expenses for (line 8 on the 2025 schedule).

  4. 4

    File by April 15 with Schedule 2.

    You can use INfreefile or approved tax software.

  • Your name, address and email
  • Each student, with their grade and share of the price
  • The exact dates your plan covers
  • An itemized description in the programs' own terms
  • The total, how it was paid, and a number to quote
