How to homeschool in Delaware

Register your homeschool once on the Delaware Department of Education site. Then file two reports a year: enrollment as of the last school day in September, due September 30, and end-of-year attendance, due July 31.

Delaware homeschool requirements

Who can teach
Any parent. No diploma or certificate required.
Days and hours
No statutory minimum. Delaware uses 180 days as the reference for the attendance report.
Subjects
No required subjects.
Testing
No testing or evaluation required.
Records
Attendance, so the July report can be completed.

Where it goes

Register through an EdAccess account and the Nonpublic School application. The end-of-year attendance report (by July 31) and the enrollment statement (by September 30) go in the same system.
